Almost

Lucy is such a careful child, she isn't walking yet. She has taken a up to 4 steps, but that is all. She decides to try about once a day and will work on it for a little while before she gives up. Yesterday, she was sitting on the bottom stair and I could see her little mind working. She stood up and walked her 4 steps before she slowly came down. I'm sure it won't be too long before she is off. We learned not too long ago that it too her dad 18 or 19 months to start walking. Since they have some very similar temperments, I am not concerned.
She is picking up words much faster. She noticed an airplane yesterday and I tried to get her to say the word. She won't perform unless she wants to, so she just listened to me, but didn't respond. A few minutes later another plane went by and she said, "mama, airplane" and pointed up. She has figured out that we respond to what she wants much faster when she will say the word. She has a good handful that she says now. Help, apple, cheese, keys, hi, ball, dada (one of her favorites) and she is working on up and out. I anticipate I will have a much different child in the next 4 months when her baby brother comes.

Don't worry, Jamie, Thomas did not walk until he was 16 months old. I wanted him to walk forever, now I would be pleased if I could get him to slow down a little :)
